Richard S. Zeilenga
Richard S. Zeilenga specializes in business litigation, real estate litigation and real estate development related counseling and litigation. Mr. Zeilenga has developed a substantial practice in land use/environmental (CEQA) litigation, and has experience in both defending and attacking large development projects throughout California.
Real estate related litigation matters have included complex easement disputes, breach of contract claims and quiet title actions. Environmental litigation has included the successful defense of Environmental Impact Reports for controversial residential and commercial projects throughout Southern and Northern California. High profile business litigation matters have included successful securities fraud litigation against Lloyds of London on behalf of Lloyd’s members/syndicate investors.
Representative clients include Pulte Homes, D.R. Horton, John Laing Homes, Federated Insurance, Stamko Development Co., Crown Pointe Partners and the City of La Quinta.
Education and Affiliations
Mr. Zeilenga earned a B.S. degree with distinction from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois in 1984, and was a member of Northwestern’s nationally acclaimed debate team, winning numerous awards. Mr. Zeilenga graduated from Northwestern University Law School in 1987, and was one of only four law students to quality for Northwestern’s National Moot Court Team.
Mr. Zeilenga is a resident and member of Sherwood Country Club, where he serves on the Club’s Board of Governors.
